Lessons Learned from the First Five Years of the NC Rated License Assessment Project

This Microsoft PowerPoint presentation examines lessons learned from the first five years of the North Carolina Rated License Assessment Project. Charts present the percentage of homes by North Carolina Star Rated License. The average assessment scores achieved in preschool, school-age classrooms, and family child care homes reflect "good" quality. Average sores in infant and toddler classrooms were less than "good." It is recommended that all programs receiving three, four, or five stars should have assessments completed in their facilities in order to ensure that these programs represent the highest quality programs in North Carolina. Quality improvement efforts should emphasize health and safety.
